Five return from the 55th FEDEGA Flower & Vegetable Show

Five Ferry Road Plot holders entered into the 55th FEDEGA flower and vegetable show, and the committee would like to congratulate them all as everyone who entered won something. So here's the Ferry Road Allotment results in full:

Michael Tonner (Plot 7)
  • 2nd 3 Dahlia small / semi cactus
  • 3rd Sweet corn
  • 3rd Any other veg
Jessie Gribble (Plot 48)
  • 2nd 3 Plot vegetable collection
  • 2nd Wholemeal loaf
  • 3rd White loaf
  • 3rd Any other baked item
Jessie’s grandson Dillon
  • 1st Sculpture from recycled items
Gill Lynch (Plot 39A)
  • 1st Gooseberry jam
  • 1st Wholemeal bread
  • 2nd Strawberry jam
  • 2nd Marmalade
  • 2nd White loaf
  • 2nd Sponge cake
  • 2nd 6 Shortbread fingers
  • 2nd Any other shortbread item
  • 3rd Oven scones
Stephen/Elaine Morris (Plot 50)
  • 1st Any other flowering pot plant
  • 2nd Collection of herbs in a vase
  • 2nd 12 Peas
  • 2nd Red onions
  • 3rd Eating apple
  • 3rd Rhubarb
Watch out for the details of next year’s show and have a go. Stephen Morris certainly recommends entering - 'It’s good fun and  it is also helpful to see what other people grow and to find out which varieties do particularly well in Edinburgh'.
